ZIMBABWE : MBARE ROYAL CREW
Breaking is one of the most hardest and original elements of Hip-hop culture.
It has made an impact all over the world and Zimbabwe is no different.
In Zimbabwe break dancing has had enormous success in cities such as Bulawayo & Harare. These cities have been the driving force in spreading the culture and also provides a platform for dancers from rural communities to showcase their skills.
One such success story is Mbare Royal Crew from Mbare, Harare. This crew recently returned from their tour in China to hold B-boy workshops in Zimbabwe in collaboration with Art of Motion Zimbabwe.
Mbare Royal crew’s motivation behind the workshops is to teach upcoming B-boys/B-girls the skills and foundation needed to grasp the movement & style of the artform and how to create and develop their own individual styles in Breaking.
“These workshops will help educate and uplift future B-boys/B-girls in the community and provide us with an opportunity to reflect our international experiences” said one crew member.
